Don't miss your opportunity........

I, along with 4 other photographers will be part of a Photo Event fundraiser this Saturday. It is an awesome deal, especially if you know what my regular prices are:). Don't miss your opportunity to catch me at a great price! The fundraiser is for something that is close to my heart, MOPS. It stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. It is a group of Moms who get together to share and learn how to raise our children, to the best of our ability. No appointment necessary, just show up between 10am and 5pm. See you there, remember, it's for a good cause!!!
I have had a few questions regarding what should i wear for my photosession? Keep it simple!
My motto in clothing is this: simple goes a long way! I like to keep the focus on the subject; therefore, simple clothing choices are best for creating timeless portraits.
I suggest loose fitting solid colors, avoiding busy patterns or logos/words. Blue's Clues is cute for playtime, but can look out of place for your child's portraits. Jeans, overalls, sun/slip dresses; khakis are classics and photograph well. I especially like boys in jeans and plains tees, and girls in simple sundresses; weather permitting of course.

Hats can also be very effective; as well as other accessories such as scarves or funky belts. If children are being photographed together, clothes that are similar in style give a more coordinated look. Bare feet are especially fun, and kids love it too. If shoes are preferred, please make sure they are in good shape, and not scuffed. Consider dressing in the color white sparingly, for this color often reflects light strongly.

Party like a Rock Star........

To celebrate Chris' graduation, we invited 60 of our closest friends and relatives to join us aboard the MOJO (a yacht) in Newport Beach, for a sunset dinner cruise!
We had such a great time, and it was so beautiful. The sunset, the harbor, the boat itself. It was just awesome! I apologize that it has taken me this long to post some pics, but Jonathan spilled coffee on my keyboard, so i couldn't post till now. If anyone has any pictures that they took at the party, please send them my way!!!!! F.Y.I - Every single picture on this post was taken with a point and shoot camera. In case you wondered:)

I am so proud!!!!!

Chris graduated with his Masters Degree yesterday. That alone is a huge accomplishment, but the night before graduation we were invited to an awards dinner for the University. When we got there we were seated at a "Reserved" table, and everyone else could sit where they wanted. Hmmm. So when the awards started, Chris was announced as the recipient of the "Blake academic award of excellence" for having the highest cumulative GPA upon graduation. Oh my gosh!!! He was so surprised. He kinda laughed out loud. He was also recognized as being on the national deans list for all consecutive semesters and also in "Who's Who among college students" . What an awesome surprise! He worked so hard, and we really struggled through his Graduate education, and he still had the highest GPA. I am sooooooo proud of you honey!

Our little houdini!

Jonathan is 18 months old, and can get into any cabinet with a child proof lock, climb over any child gate, and finally climb out of the crib whenever he wants. A few nights ago he decided it was not night night, came out of the crib and out into the living room about TEN TIMES! I was going insane. He, of course, thought it was pretty funny. Well he's not laughing anymore. I went out the next day and bought the crib tent, and he is not happy! But at least i know he is not going to fall out in the middle of the night, or wander the house getting into god knows what. Kelsey thinks it is the coolest thing, but she doesn't have to sleep in it :).

Family Camp!

Our Churchs' Annual Family Camp is held down in San Diego. Unfortunately Chris had to work and could not join us, so i hauled the kids down there and flew solo. Luckily for me, the Smart family was very helpful to us and helped sooooo much! Kyle even cooked for us, took Kelsey on a bike Ride, swimming and even taught her to pee in the pool, thanks Kyle!:). Thanks Smart Family, we had a great time!!!

Cheetos for breakfast, only at family camp!
Jonathan and his friend Chase, they are 1 day apart, how fun!

The bike ride. At one point i think there were 10 people on this bike. What a workout! Jonathan and Sophia look like twins, they are dressed alike.

Isabel's Party

Isabel turned 4 years old, and invited us to join her at Build a Bear. Kelsey had a great time and even named her bear Isabel, so she would remember this day forever. How sweet!
Thank You Isabel for inviting us to your celebration!!!

Isabel made out with 2 bears! Way to go Isabel!!!

Gracies' Party

Gracie is a friend of Kelseys' who turned 6. Her party was half an hour after Kelsey's. Boy was she tired! Gracie's party was at the sawdust factory in Upland. This place is soooo cool! The kids get to paint all the stuff, and then they put it all together for them. It was really fun! Thank You to Gracie for inviting us!
